Personal information we collect

We collect certain personal information from Users in a variety of ways in connection with activities, services, features and/or resources that we make available on our Site. Such categories of personal information may include a User’s: first name, last name, email address, and phone number when he/she uses our Site to make a boat reservation or to list their boat on our Site.

We collect personal information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such personal information to us. Users can always refuse to provide their personal information, however, without certain personal information, Floatspace may not be able to provide Users with all the services requested. Users may also visit our Site anonymously.

Device data

When Users interact with our Site, we collect certain non-personal information about the User’s computer or mobile device, such as the: browser name, manufacturer and model, operating system, Internet service providers utilized, and other similar information.

Boat data

If a User lists their boat on our Site, we collect information that the User provides in relation to their boat such as: boat listing details, a boat website (url) where we can see / learn more about the User’s boat, its availability dates, reviews, and uploaded trip photos.

Trip data

We collect transactional information related to the trips you have booked and take through the services on our Site, including the date and time of your booking, amounts charged, and other related trip details.

Payment data

We collect a User’s digital payment details, bank account or payment card numbers, and transaction information in connection with a potential or actual transaction, which may be processed and stored by one or more third party payment service providers or digital payments companies.

Identity verification data

We may collect identity verification information such as images of your government issued ID or other forms of identification information.

Background check information

For Users in the United States, to the extent permitted by applicable laws, we may collect background information about you from public records, background check providers, or other screening services, including credit reports and information about criminal convictions or from sex offender registries. We may also obtain information about you to help detect fraud and safety issues for use in our fraud prevention and risk assessment efforts.

If a User lists their boat on our Site, the public listing page will always include some basic information about their boat, such as the boat’s name, the maximum number of guests permitted on the boat, its calendar availability, and the city where the boat is located.

Do Not Track

Users can set their preferences and enable or disable “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals by visiting the preferences or settings page of their web browser. Like many other websites and online services, we currently do not respond to or alter our practices when we receive DNT signals.

This section explains the text messages Floatspace sends, how you come to receive them, and how to stop them. It applies wherever you have given us a mobile number.

Who sends the messages

All text messages are sent by Floatspace. We do not send marketing or promotional texts, and we never sell or rent your mobile number.

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

If you booked a charter

You give us your mobile number when you request a quote or book a charter on floatspace.com, or on a booking site powered by Floatspace. By giving us your number and submitting that form, you agree to receive text messages about that booking, such as:

• booking and hold confirmations
• invoices and payment reminders
• your charter runsheet and departure details

If you operate a boat with us

Boat operators add operational contact numbers in their Floatspace account settings, and can remove a number or turn text messages off there at any time. Those numbers receive messages about that operator’s own vessels and bookings, such as hold requests, booking confirmations and charter runsheets.

Message frequency

These messages are transactional, so how many you receive depends on your bookings rather than a fixed schedule — typically a handful per booking. We do not send recurring campaigns.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Floatspace does not charge you for these messages; your mobile carrier’s standard rates apply.

How to stop messages

Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and nothing after that. Reply START to opt back in. Reply HELP or INFO for help, or email getonboard{{ $brandDomain }}. Operators can also remove a number in their account settings, and anyone can ask us to remove their number by emailing that address.

Carrier liability

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Information you give us is handled in line with this Privacy Policy. Charter bookings are also governed by our Charter Agreement.
