Top three Covid questions answered when it comes to getting onboard

It’s finally safe to get out and start planning ahead. With Covid restrictions now easing across the country and everyone getting out and about, it’s time to lock in some much-needed fun on the water!  However, with so many recent events cancelled, and the ever changing Covid restrictions, we know it’s hard to keep track of where you stand, or float, when it comes to boat hire and events on the water. That’s why we’ve put together the top three facts you need to know when it comes to Covid and booking your perfect boat experience.

1. Do I have to be double vaxxed?

You sure do. To jump onboard and enjoy any of our Floatspace fleet, you and all your guests will need to be fully vaccinated. Everyone will be asked to show their proof of vaccination on arrival, so get your vaccine certificate downloaded, if you haven’t already, and have your phone fully charged and ready to go. For NSW, you can find information on downloading your vaccine certificate here. You’ll also be asked to check in with the QR code provided (we all know that drill by now) and some boats may ask to take your temperature when boarding. Once you’re all safely onboard and setting sail for an incredible experience in the fresh open air, Covid will most definitely become a distant memory.

2. Will my boat be Covid safe?

Absolutely, apart from the usual high standard of cleaning onboard all our vessels for hire, our boats now have extra procedures in place to ensure all Floatspace boats are Covid compliant and fully sanitised before and after every single booking. For your own peace of mind, it’s a great idea to bring your own hand sanitiser and mask along too, as well as abiding by the 4 sqm rule when inside. With all the Floatspace boats offering great outdoor seating, BBQ areas and entertaining decks, you’ll be able to sit back, relax and enjoy your experience on the water without a worry.

3. What happens if my booking gets cancelled due to Covid?

We all know that feeling by now, lockdowns appear out of nowhere and all fun is cancelled. That’s why we’re working closely with all our boat owners to ensure as much flexibility as possible when it comes to your boat booking and cancellations due to Covid restrictions. In the case of a lockdown, most boats will allow you to postpone your booking and rebook within 12 months; however, we encourage you to reach out and check with our team, as this does vary from boat to boat.

We understand how disruptive COVID-19 has been for everyone and we're here to help get you back on the water safely.

Let’s get back out there!
