A planners guide to hiring with Floatspace

Whether it’s at work, with your mates or even just the fam, there’s always that one person who just loves to plan - you know who you are. Chances are, you’re the person organising this next adventure on the water and hiring a boat.

The thing about being an organiser is you need to know the facts, so check out this guide on what to expect when it comes to planning and booking the ultimate boat experience.

Size Matters (when it comes to chartering a boat)

Whether it’s a sailing boat, cruiser or super yacht you’re looking to hire, the number of guests you have will determine which boat you choose. All our boats have a maximum capacity, so knowing who’s going to make the cut is the perfect place to start. Check out the Floatspace fleet here and browse your options.

Eat, Drink and be Merry

Catering has got to be high on the list when it comes to any event on the water. Picture this: gliding effortlessly through turquoise waters with a beautiful share platter laid out in front of you, decorated with cheese, nuts and the occasional fig. Lucky for you all our boats for hire in the Floatspace fleet offer a variety of options when it comes to catering, from BYO to fully catered. Remember if you’re drinking alcohol you will need to have food as well, and if you’re after a few cheeky shots to get the party started be sure to reach out to our team as it does vary from boat to boat. But don’t worry, once you’ve chosen your perfect boat, our team will send you all the relevant options and find out exactly what you had in mind.

What to bring

You don’t need us to tell you the obvious stuff like swimmers, suncream, hat, but what about the not so obvious stuff like cutlery and floaties? Most of our boats have everything you could possibly dream of, including water toys, but because they’re all different it’s best to always check when you make your booking.

When it comes to decorations, you really can’t beat the beauty and class of your own boat, however sometimes your special day just needs a little more sparkle - we get it. You are more than welcome to bring your own decorations however before you pack the giant inflatable penis for Tracey’s Hens do, just remember everything you bring on to the boat, you will have to take off with you and we can’t guarantee you’ll be able to board early to set up, however we will always do our best to help.

The Where and the When

We all know that one person who’s always late, so being on top of the logistics is vital when it comes to planning your time on the water. With a lot of our boats you have the choice of where and when to board, simply talk to our team when you make your booking, and they’ll try to make it work for you. Just be sure to pad out your boarding time so your late mate, literally, doesn’t miss the boat.
